the logo for tuklas captures the spirit of curiosity and discovery through modern, geometric forms inspired by bauhaus and mid-century design. the client wanted something that would complement their café’s aesthetic while still feeling warm and approachable.
each element of the logo reflects the story behind tuklas and its roots in sagada. the zigzag pattern inside the “u” draws inspiration from traditional sagada weaving, symbolizing craft, culture, and connection to origin. meanwhile, the triangle cutout in the letter “a” represents a keyhole — a metaphor for opening doors, unlocking stories, and discovering something new, echoing the meaning of tuklas.
the color palette blends earthy terracotta, golden yellow, misty blue, and deep black, evoking sagada’s landscape — from its warm soil and morning sunlight to its cool mountain air and roasted coffee beans.
the result is a logo that feels modern yet grounded, playful yet intentional, and designed for the curious who find comfort in discovery.
the main challenge for this project was the tight timeline. the client gave only a week to develop the logo and tagline, leaving little room for multiple iterations. i had to move quickly while keeping the design thoughtful and aligned with the brand’s story.
another challenge was translating the bauhaus and mid-century aesthetic into something that still felt connected to filipino culture and sagada’s roots. finding that balance between modern geometry and local identity became the key focus throughout the process.
to capture tuklas’ spirit of curiosity and calm, the logo drew inspiration from bauhaus geometry and mid-century design, balanced with subtle filipino cultural elements. the forms and textures reflect both modern structure and handcrafted warmth, echoing sagada’s blend of craft and nature.
paired with an earthy, misty palette, the identity evokes the feeling of mountain air and freshly brewed coffee; grounded, curious, and made for discovery.
using adobe illustrator, i developed the final logo and brand assets with scalability and consistency in mind. the identity was applied across storefront signage, takeaway cups, uniforms, and social media platforms, creating a cohesive presence both in-store and online.
the clean, geometric forms and warm color palette translated well across different materials, from textured fabrics to printed cups and digital layouts. maintaining visual harmony across these applications helped strengthen tuklas’ calm, modern, and curious character.
the deliverables included:
primary and secondary logo versions
color and typography guide
cup and packaging design
storefront and uniform applications
social media layout templates
each asset was designed to reflect tuklas’ essence; curiosity, discovery, and warmth, turning every detail into part of the brand’s story.
the final design established tuklas’ visual identity from the ground up, setting the tone for its warm and creative atmosphere. the cohesive use of the logo, patterns, and color palette helped the café stand out while staying true to its midcentury-inspired aesthetic.
since launching, tuklas has grown beyond being just a coffee shop, it has become a creative space for the community, hosting workshops and events like flower arrangement sessions. the branding played a key role in shaping this identity, creating a space that feels both inspiring and welcoming to locals and creatives alike.
the logo for childcore therapy center captures the heart of child development through playful, geometric forms and a bright, welcoming color palette. the client envisioned a brand that feels professional yet child-friendly, creating an atmosphere of warmth and trust for both parents and children.
each puzzle piece represents the core values of childcore: collaboration, individuality, and progress. the soft, rounded shapes suggest approachability, while the smiling puzzle faces symbolize how therapy connects every unique part of a child’s journey, piece by piece.
the color palette of sky blue, sunshine yellow, and playful pink reflects optimism, creativity, and care, embodying the center’s mission to help every child thrive in a safe and nurturing space.
the result is a logo that feels joyful, modern, and meaningful, one that mirrors childcore’s vision of empowering little ones to grow, connect, and shine.
as a new brand, it was challenging to establish childcore’s image from the ground up. the goal was not only to capture the attention of potential clients but also to build lasting trust and familiarity within the community.
since the brand represents a therapy center for children, the identity had to strike a balance; professional and credible for parents, yet warm and engaging for kids. paired with a tight timeline before the center’s opening, the challenge was to design something that felt complete, thoughtful, and ready to grow alongside the brand.
to capture childcore’s warmth and heart for children, the design draws inspiration from playful shapes and soft nurturing forms that reflect growth, care, and connection. the logo balances professionalism and approachability, crafted to feel safe for kids yet trusted by parents.
paired with a gentle palette of pastels and warm neutrals, the identity evokes comfort, joy, and hope, creating a space where little ones can grow confidently and families feel supported.
busktangas is a vibrant artist collective based in lipa, batangas, made up of musicians, visual artists, and cosplayers. known for infusing public spaces with local talent, they regularly collaborate with malls and venues to provide entertainment that promotes both local artistry and business visibility. one of their key initiatives is "community busking"—a monthly event that showcases emerging artists while partnering with nearby businesses for cross-promotion.
for the 2023 holiday season, busktangas needed a festive visual identity that captured their spirit of community, creativity, and youthful energy. the goal was to create a cohesive campaign that promoted their events while staying true to their core values: inclusivity, grassroots artistry, and local collaboration.
to reflect busktangas' whimsical and welcoming energy, the campaign drew inspiration from storybook illustrations and handmade greeting cards—evoking nostalgia, warmth, and the joy of giving. these themes were especially fitting for the holiday season, where the focus was on gathering, sharing, and celebrating with community.
using clip studio paint and procreate, i created a series of hand-drawn illustrations that were then converted into modular visual assets. these assets were designed to be versatile and easy to update or repurpose using canva, enabling the team to quickly adapt content across platforms.
the deliverables included:
facebook cover photo templates
instagram story and post layouts
printable poster designs
decorative spot illustrations (e.g. musical instruments, snowflakes, twinkling lights)
each asset was crafted to maintain a consistent visual tone while allowing flexibility for event-specific text and promotional messaging.
the campaign successfully ran throughout december, drawing increased foot traffic to busktangas-hosted events and partner venues. the nostalgic art direction resonated well with their audience, helping them recruit new performers and attract fresh community engagement.
designing for busktangas allowed me to blend illustration with strategic branding. by creating templates that balanced visual charm with usability, i supported a grassroots community in amplifying their message and growing their reach—all while keeping the holiday spirit alive.
shockwave’s beach house is a beachfront resort located in negros occidental. they offer accommodations, a venue for events, and camping activities. in 2022, the client approached me to redesign their logo. their previous logo came from a generic template and no longer represented their identity.
they wanted something more personal—one that reflects their raw, outdoorsy vibe and camping culture. key requirements included:
a hand-drawn look using organic shapes
keeping their original typeface
using a yellow-based palette to reflect sunlight and warmth
making the brand feel approachable, personal, and subtly clever
to design a meaningful and versatile logo that balances playfulness, nature-inspired aesthetics, and symbolic storytelling, all while staying true to the brand’s original name and emotional roots.
the new logo is built around two primary elements:
an abstract "s" shape, stylized from a lightning bolt
a simplified sunburst icon
together, they form a bold yet minimal visual mark. the “s” shape represents “shock” evoking energy, movement, and a nod to the name. the thunder-inspired form is a direct tribute to less shockley, the late husband of the co-owner and the man behind the world’s fastest jet-powered truck, shockwave.
when the logo is rotated 90°, the shape transforms:
the “s” morphs into a beach wave
the surrounding elements resemble a sunset on the horizon
this playful transformation adds a second layer of meaning, tying in the beach setting while honoring the “shock” origin.
the overall look is clean but organic, balancing hand-drawn spontaneity with visual clarity
the yellow-orange palette evokes sunlight, energy, and optimism—perfect for a beachfront experience
the mark was designed to scale well for signage, merch, and digital use
the final logo successfully captured the heart of shockwave’s beach house, blending personal tribute, beach energy, and visual wit. the client appreciated the hidden symbolism and how the mark could spark conversation and connection.
this single piece not only refreshed their visual identity but added emotional value through thoughtful design.
